Birdwatching is a VISUAL FIELD game on Lumosity.com, training your brain to pay attention to multiple things at the exact same time. It has several important features, and is also the only Lumosity game which launches in a new window. A similar game called Eagle Eye was released in 2010.

Bird Finding

You have a limited number of exposures each time you play the game. When you are not guessing letters or bird names, you are playing the bird finding part of the game. A letter will appear in the box at the center of the screen, and a picture of a bird will also appear elsewhere on the screen. You are supposed to move your camera mouse pointer to where the bird was and click. Then, a new screen will come up with a list of five letters. You need to hit the letter which you saw in the center square.

Bird Name Guessing

If you are correct, the letter you picked will move down onto a hangman-style set of blanks for the name of the bird. You then have a chance to guess the name of the bird. If you have no idea, click the "next" button to go straight to the next round of bird finding. If you can guess the name of the bird, you not only save exposures for later but earn EXTRA points!

Score and Bird Display

Once you have used all your exposures, a final screen comes up. It says the number of birds you have captured and shows their pictures in a "notepad" to the side. It also says your score, and whether or not you have unlocked the next difficulty level of the game.
